Intelligent: For as long as I could remember,
people have always identified me as the smart person and to be honest I’m
usually one of the smarter people wherever I go. For example, ever since
seventh grade I have always been able to maintain relatively high B and A
grades. Also, I’m usually very quick to pick up new ideas or concepts that are
usually seen as very hard. Another example was the day my group put together
our county mascot for our sophomore Olympics project. We finished putting
together our mascot itself but since we were doing a Toucan perched on a branch
we put together a t-shaped PVC pipe, but we then realized that we didn’t really
have a way to attach it to our display so I found L-shaped hinges that we could
screw into the PVC pipe and board. This resulted in the Toucan’s perch being
very sturdy and strong.
Responsible: Ever since middle school, I’ve had to
be able to handle my own education, because for the most part my parents were
usually never really able to help me understand my homework and the content
that I was learning. I always was very good at making sure that I get my work
done along with asking any questions that I had about class concepts. One example
of my responsibility was my passport approved project that I had during my
freshman year. I was the guy in the group that Mr. Strand identified as the
most responsible for carrying my group’s project contract and my main role in the
group was to take care of formatting our pages for the scrapbook.
Natural leader: Many have described me as a born
leader. One example of my leadership qualities is the fact that I created and
am active President of the Nintendo Gamers Club of IPoly. Another example was
that last summer; I was volunteering in the San Bernardino County Museum and
had successfully run a family activity room by myself for a few hours the day
before. This show of my responsibility showed my supervisor that I was a great
leader and so she asked me if I could lead the other volunteers for the day’s
activity, which ended up turning out to be a success. At the end of the day,
after I had finished counting the last visitors, I counted up to 80 or so
visitors, which was really good compared to the numbers from earlier in the
summer. In addition, in most groups that I am put in, I usually assume a leadership
role within the group often coordinating my group members and asking them about
what parts of the assignment they want to do.
